French wage seizure: which stage does your notice show?
Since 1 July 2025, French wage-seizure procedure involves commissaires de justice under new rules. The payment command precedes seizure and includes information about the debt, a possible agreement and challenges. When a challenge is made can affect whether it suspends the procedure. Identify the notice, its date and any earlier proceedings; this page calculates neither your personal deadline nor the seizable portion of your wages.

What happens in the other cases?
- New-procedure command
- Record the service date and required information. Under L212-4, a challenge within one month of the command suspends proceedings; a challenge remains possible at any time.
- Earlier proceedings
- Distinguish registry payments, an already-authorized seizure and conciliation without a decision. Check the matching transitional branch.
- Wage protection
- The protected wage fraction and protected bank balance are distinct. This route calculates neither amount.
Is wage protection the same as bank-account protection?
No. The protected portion of remuneration follows its own rules; the protected bank balance is a different concept. Source S5
Which records should I gather for a review?
Keep instruments, service dates, breakdowns, payments and correspondence. The table prepares a review without deciding the debt.
